Rev. Bob Van Valkenburg and his wife, May, came to Pilgrims' in 1993. Since 1996 he has served as Pastoral Associate, and also two terms as Interim Pastor (1998-1999, 2003-2004). His work includes duties as Minister of Visitation.

Bob was ordained to Christian Ministry in 1973 at Calvary Grace Church in Rillton, PA. He served as Assistant Pastor at Christ Congregational Church, South Miami, 1973-1992. He is also a veteran with 20 years service in the US Air Force. While in Miami, he served 20 years at Miami-Dade Community College, retiring in 1992 from the position of Supervisor of Television Engineering. In 2008 is the 35th anniversary of his ordination.

He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. Parents of six children, Bob and May celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the beginning of this new century. In 2006, Bob was honored for his 10 years' service as Pilgrims' Pastoral Associate. They reside in The Villages.

Tenth Anniversary

During worship, Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, Pastor Bob was honored for ten years' service as Pastoral Associate at PUCC. He was presented with a plaque and an ovation. Following worship a reception was in his honor.
