During worship on Sunday, July 20, over 40 new Prayer Shawls will be dedicated and blessed. This means that, since our participation in this ministry began just over two years ago, our knitters and crocheters have made over 400 shawls.
Shawls have been sent all over North America and sent to England. Some shawls are also distributed to returning veterans and their families.
If you knit or crochet and would like to participate in this work, please contact Jane Bradley or Dee Armstrong.
The congregation met following worship on Sunday, April 27 to act on the nomination by the Pastoral Search Committee ofThe Reverend Ronal K. Freyer-Nicholas, OSL, to be the next settled Pastor and Teacher of Pilgrims' UCC. Following an opportunity for questions, Pastor Ron received an affirmative vote of more than 85% of the votes cast.
Biographical data for Rev. Freyer-Nicholas was included in a bulletin insert on Sunday, April 20, and again on the 27th. Copies will be available on the narthex tables.
The move from supply to settled pastor will be completed once remaining details of contract and covenant are resolved by pastor and Church Council. He will continue working at an 80% rate (approximately 32 hours/week) and receive compensation, benefits, and reimbursements at approximately 80% of the conference guidelines for a fulltime appointment.
No date has been set yet for Installation, but it is expected to be later in the fall when our snowbirds begin to return.
If you have questions about the work of the PSC, please contact Beth Lange, chair, or James Polhamus, vice chair.
